The Dune itself runs on Android, so it is very stable and does have constant firmware upgrades easily applied. I went through all the video and audio files and fortunately it was able to play all of them with no problem. If you want an alternative to the AppleTV, Roku, Chromecast, or other players currently out there I really suggest you take a look at these new players. You can also catalog your media content with Dune's built-in indexer but since it has the Plex app, no reason for me to manage so many systems. It's fast, picture quality is fantastic and you have such control over every aspect of the player. It has more features and functions then the best Roku available.
